Curtis Pond was delighted to get through to the next round of the FA Cup this afternoon. Afterwards the Hereford keeper spoke to the local media.
"It's the furthest I've ever got in the FA Cup," said Pond.
"I believe I've only ever got to the second of third qualifying round so not only to get to the fourth qualifying round it's just amazing really."
Recently Pond was given a Hereford towel by kit man Dan Pace.
"It's a bit of a thing me and Dan started.
"He gave me a towel with a Hereford badge on it to use.
"Ever since I've used it we've done quite well so I'm going to carry on."
Pond had to make several saves to keep Rochdale at bay.
"I think they are all ones you would probably expect me to make. I think if they go in you would probably be asking questions.
"But it's the fifth clean sheet in a row and I'll take it."
The winning goal didn't come until fairly late in the game.
"You know that they are always going to try and get the win, they are the team in the league above and they are full time.
"We didn't want a replay, we didn't want to go up to there on a Tuesday night so we knew we had to try and put on a performance and we did.
"And we knew for every minute that went on they were going to press even more and more and that's how the game went on.
"I think they were hard to sus out really but once that ten fifteen minutes calmed down and we realised we were in for a bit of a game and they probably realised it themselves and that when we went up a gear."
Lots of praise for the back four from Pond.
"They always look at the keeper when it's a clean sheet but they are the ones who have been tremendous in front of me, not only stopping the shots but the ones that have got through I've been able to keep them out as well."
Pond was asked whom he would like to play in the first round.
"It's a bit of an odd one, I don't support a team.
"I used to support United as a kid but I grew out of that when I got a bit older.
"I'll be happy with anyone. I think the biggest would be Derby away. My missus and all her family are Derby fans so that would be a nice draw."
