Tom Owen-Evans has said he'll be back better than ever when his leg injury heals |
Former Hereford midfielder Tom Owen-Evans, who left last year to join Kidderminster Harriers, has told of his frustration of spending seven months out injured.
Now at National League South side Chippenham Town alongside fellow former Bulls Luke Haines, Aaron Amadi-Holloway and Alex Bray, he's been suffering with a leg injury.
He said he has now found out, after a misdiagnosis, that he's fractured his fibula, despite his X-ray being done nine weeks ago.
The 26-year-old said he hasn't played a competitive game in seven months.
He said: "Where do I start?! Gutted to only just be finding out after nine weeks out that I have fractured my fibula.
"After being misdiagnosed by a doctor for six weeks last season, I can’t quite get my head around the fact that another doctor has failed to pick up on this when I went in for my X-ray nine weeks ago.
"After nearly seven months since my last competitive game it’s tough to take but I’m determined to be back better than ever."
Owen-Evans had a spell on loan with Chippenham Town while at Hereford. He spent four seasons with the Bulls before heading to Aggborough, where he failed to make an impact.
He scored for the Bulls in their 3-1 loss in the 2021 FA Trophy final at Wembley against Hornchurch and was the club's top goalscorer across all competitions in the 2018–19 and 2021–22 seasons.
