The left-sided player was a popular member of the Bulls squad under manager Peter Beadle.
He initially joined on loan from Cheltenham in 2016 before joining the Bulls permanently on two occasions, once in 2017 and again in 2018 after a spell at Solihull Moors.
He joined Redditch United this summer after leaving Leamington but quickly made the drop down to step four, joining Sutton Coldfield Town.
Eighty minutes into their 4-1 loss at home to Walsall Wood on Tuesday, and an injury resulted in him being stretchered off the field.
On Twitter, Bowen said he was "f***ing fuming" as he shared a picture of his leg in a brace.
He said he injured the ligaments in his knee, with the club's physio saying it had been seven hours in A&E.
Later, Bowen said: "Appreciate all the love and support I’ve had from everyone it means a lot, one more scan to go let’s hope we can get this piss can back soon."
