Hereford manager Paul Caddis says today's 2-2 draw at King's Lynn goes to show what sort of manager he will be.Paul Caddis
The job at Edgar Street is Caddis's first in management and he has said from the start he does not want his team to sit back. He wants to compete and not just sit back.
Hereford took the lead through an Alex Babos header, before the hosts pulled two goals back. It was then Jason Cowley who equalised for the Bulls, just seconds after the Linnet's took the lead.
For the travelling fans in Norfolk, that was a pleasing sight - at too many times over recent teams, Hereford have been set up to play for a draw and, if they conceded, a loss was almost guaranteed.
Speaking after the match, Caddis said: "I've said it from the off, I don't want it to come and just sit in, that's not how I am as a person, that's not who I was as a player.
"Listen, we were involved in a really good match today, we wanted to win it, of course we did, we had the confidence to do it.
"But at the same time, the bigger picture, we'll probably go home tonight and calm myself down and the bigger picture os we've lost a lot of first-team players, we've lost some goals in the team.
"We've obviously managed to get Cowles [Jason Cowley] back today, couple of suspensions, so it was a bit of a disruptive week for us.
"All credit to the players, all we say is credit to them and what they've done, the dressing room has been first class."
Caddis did admit though that he was "very encouraged to not lose".
He added: "The first game of the season, a lot of positivity coming to a full-time club.
"Obviously we managed to sort a hotel out the night before as well, which helped I think, that shows in the last 15 minutes.
"If you drive up on the day, you're going to be leggy and tired, so that played its part as well, and we're delighted to come here and take a point."
