Hereford have fallen to their first defeat of the season as they find themselves on the wrong end of a 2-1 scoreline at Blyth Spartans.
At a very windy Croft Park, the hosts dominated possession in the first half – and for much of the second – and Hereford would've counted themselves lucky to be level at the break.
The visitors fell a goal behind as they failed to deal with a corner. Charlie Aitken was able to drive the ball home from the penalty spot after a well-drilled corner routine which saw a cheeky back-heel from Nicky Deverdics.
Jason Cowley equalised before being substituted at half time, running in behind and cutting back to curl a cracking effort into the top corner.
After the break, Blyth regained the lead. Michael Liddle’s strike on the edge of the box cannons into the bottom corner.
With Koby Arthur on, he rattled the woodwork moments after a Jordan Cranston shot was saved by the keeper.
Mendes and Teixeira also had attempts on goal, but Blyth weren't without their fair share of chances as Knight forces Pond to parry his effort.
In the dying stages of the 90 minutes, there were chances for Alex Babos and substitute Tom Hewlett, as well as three – including a great effort from point-blank range – for Lassana Mendes but they couldn't find the back of the net.
Lewis Knight then got the better of Kyle Howkins, but his shot was too high to trouble Curtis Pond.
Into seven minutes of stoppage time, a couple of gambles from the Bulls, including keeper Pond going up and heading wide from a corner, saw them search for a second equaliser but it wasn't to be.
With confusion in defence at times and a little more bite needed in midfield, Caddis's side have fallen to their first defeat of the season (but not as bad as that 5-0 defeat in April, eh?).
