Andy Williams being helped off the pitch on Saturday by physio James Hughes and Jason Cowley
Bosses at Hereford have spoken more about the injury to Andy Williams, but the extent of it is still not yet known.
The striker, who rejoined the club this summer after 14 years away, was shouting in pain at Edgar Street in Saturday's 2-0 pre-season friendly win against West Brom under-21s as he went down.
But there has been little information about the 36-year-old's injury.
Earlier this week, the club said he will have a scan today to find out the full extent of his injury – the results will be reviewed by a specialist and should be known by the middle of the next week.
Rumours swirling on social media suggest it could be an anterior cruciate ligament injury and that would mean a long spell on the sidelines.
On the other hand, it could be a medial ligament strain which would mean a shorter spell out.
Speaking in their latest video call on the club's official YouTube video, general manager Jamie Griffiths and chairman Chris Ammonds spoke about the injury.
"The clear negative was poor old Willo coming off with what looked to be a knee injury," Ammonds said.
"I spoke to Paul [Caddis] about it and it's early days really to know exactly what the situation is and with injuries, you've got to let them settle down a little bit.
"Obviously we will provide an update when we can, but at this stage it's too early really to understand exactly what the longer-term prognosis will be or how long he might be out for.
"Hopefully, touch wood, not too long, but it should be something we find out more about over the next few days."
Griffiths said: "He did pop to A&E after the game, obviously on crutches as well but that's precautionary, take the weight off it.
"Hopefully it won't be too long and we'll know the extent of that."
With the latest video update, it's another positive sign that communication out of Edgar Street is better than it has been over recent seasons.
