Pollock Moves To Spennymoor

Former Hereford defender Ben Pollock is moving to Spennymoor.

This from Spennymoor:

The 25-year-old centre-back was one of The Pilgrims’ star players last season, but he has now been convinced that his future lies at The Brewery Field.

Pollock’s consistent performances at the heart of the Boston defence earned him many plaudits during 2022/23 and he won three club awards, including the much-coveted Players’ Player of the Year prize.

Having spent time on the books at Middlesbrough, Leeds United and Newcastle United during his younger days, Pollock signed professional terms with Hartlepool United in the summer of 2016.

He moved on for stints in the colours of Dunston UTS and Billingham Synthonia where his performances earned him a move to Hereford in 2019.

Pollock went on to spend three years at Edgar Street and won the club’s Player of the Year award in 2021/22 which helped pave the way for his move to Boston.

The Bolton-born star had a host of offers on the table this summer, but he’s now put pen to paper on a deal which will see him join the club where his father Jamie was Manager in the 2000s.

“We are delighted with the signing of Ben – it’s another great addition for the Club,” said boss Jamie Chandler.

“Ben is a very talented player who has been consistently very good at this level over the past few years and has won Player of the Year awards in each of the last two seasons so he will bring confidence and momentum to the Club.

“As well as being very comfortable in possession he also likes a battle and a fight, which will be important for us moving forward in terms of our identity and the way we want to play.

“He’s an ambitious lad and he’s another leader in the dressing room so we’re all very excited to have him with us and no doubt he will continue to develop and be a big player for us in the new season.”
