Hereford FC chairman Chris Ammonds |
Back at the start of April, Hereford fans learnt that their club had a new chairman.
That man was Chris Ammonds, no stranger to most and a regular face at Edgar Street.
In fact, he was Hereford FC's first commercial manager before he returned to his communications job. He's now back, this time as chairman.
And, seemingly, that's one of the best things about his tenure so far - communication.
All too often over recent years have supporters berated the club and its board for not being open or transparent enough and just not communicating as much as might be expected. Rightly so, most will say.
The club is, after all, touted as having "the local community at the heart of everything it does". That's taken from the official website. Football is nothing without fans, but those fans want to feel as if they know what's going on.
Over the last two months, we've had increasingly regular updates, whether that's the sit-down chats with general manager Jamie Griffiths and Ammonds, or updates on discussions with players during the close season.
Today, when the news broke that Harry Pinchard had signed for Gloucester City, he was quoted in the article on the club website.
And that article explained Hereford would be getting a fee because Pinchard is under the age of 24 and was offered a new contract at Edgar Street.
Even when season ticket prices were announced, the reasons for the price rises were explained properly and most supporters understood and were thankful for the update.
And despite the rise, a staggering 850 have now been sold - surely more than most would've expected, but the promising signings news boss Paul Caddis has made will be feeding that number.
Of course, general manager Jamie Griffiths, the club’s media guy Toby and Caddis will all have their parts to play too.
The new era of communication is welcomed by supporters.
Long may it continue.
