Attendances across the Vanarama National League reached an all-time high this season as over three million people attended games during the 2022/23 season.
The record figure is indicative of the surge in interest of the Vanarama National League over the past season as the total attendances across the National, North and South broke the three million mark for the first time – with the average gate across the three divisions being over 5,000.
Key attendance headlines for 2022/23 include:

The record cumulative figure represents an 18.2% increase on the same
numbers for the 2021/22 campaign – the Vanarama National League South
saw a 30.3% increase alone.
• A Vanarama National League record 16,511 crowd watched Notts County’s fixture with Yeovil Town.

Average attendances for the National and North divisions increased by
10.5% and 2.8% while the South division saw a slight increase of 1.1%.
• The National division Promotion Final attendance of 38,138 was the highest for eight years and the sixth highest ever.
The latest attendance numbers show a desire to watch live football despite the introduction of the League streaming platform National League TV.
Vanarama National League General Manager, Mark Ives said: “It is an outstanding achievement by all our clubs to not only continue the increasing trend of attendances but to break the three-million mark for the first time.
“Since the pandemic, our clubs have had to be innovative with their matchday experiences to entice fans new and old back into their grounds. The figures are testament to the incredible work going on across our clubs.

set against the introduction of our streaming platform National League
TV which has given fans more options to follow the National League.”
