Hereford's most recent signing Adam Rooney has received dozens of messages from well-wishers after joining the club.
On Twitter, Rooney - who was announced last week as Hereford's new player/assistant manager - said he was delighted to be taking his next step.
"Exciting times and there’s been some great signings so far so let’s hope for a successful season," he added.
"Can’t wait to get going."
Almost 1,000 people have since liked the tweet, and dozens replied showing their support.
That number included former Hereford United midfielder Sam Clucas, who appears to still be without a club after leaving Stoke City.
He left the Bulls, then in the Conference, in 2013, when newly-promoted League Two side Mansfield Town snapped him up for £20,000 plus a 15 per cent sell-on clause.
Since then he's had spells with Chesterfield, Hull City and Swansea, before joining Stoke City where the now 32-year-old struggled with injury.
Clucas said: "Good luck mate great club 🙌🏻"
Rooney replied: "Thanks mate, fancy a return? 👀🤣"
Wrexham's Ryan Barnett said: "Wayne 😍 good luck my mate 🙌🏽 get the jokes ready"
Jamie Howell, from Aberdeen where Rooney spent four years as a player, said: "Congratulations Adam, all the best with the new role 👏"
Andy McNulty, manager of Irish side Templeogue United, said: "If you’re part of them management team, you can pick yourself for pens! 😂 Best of luck pal. No better man ❤️"
Hereford boss Paul Caddis said he has known Rooney a number of years and they have a good relationship.
