With Jon Hale quitting, the question is who will be Hereford's next chair.
Usually there are seven club directors, three of whom are nominated by HUST and four by the shareholders which really means the five initial investors or benefactors when the club reformed.
Peter Churchus is currently the vice-chair and took the recent Special General Meeting in the absense of Hale who was still chair at that time.
Churchus was said not to want the job when asked last Saturday. And if that really is his wish then it's not clear who will lead the club.
There are two other benefactor directors. One of them is Rob Crawford. He was chair from November 11th 2020 until May 31st 2021 after Andrew Graham quit.
Given his comments after he stepped down it's unlikely he will become chair for a second time.
"Our Club demands and deserves a Chairman that is the figurehead with specific skills including the ability to communicate across all platforms to all. Unfortunately, this is not an area that I enjoy or court."
The other director appointed by the benefactors is James Smith who recently joined the board in place of Nigel Edmondson.
Smith has been asked to increase commercial income at the club. That in itself is a tough task. But a very important one.
The three other board members are known as HND's. In essence they are put forward by HUST, the supporters trust.
They are Tony Taylor, the longest serving club board member, Joanie Roberts and Mike Langford.
And now HUST own 50% of the club there's no reason why one of these three couldn't become chair. After all there has already been one HND club chair, Andrew Graham.
One other possibility is that the benefactors could have someone in mind.
Whoever is eventually elected as chair will have plenty to do.
The club needs to settle the football budget for next season, a new manager has to be sought, a floodlight upgrade is required and overall the books have to be balanced.
But most of all someone who can unite the club again and move it forward.
