Ovarian cancer can be devastating. It kills 11 women every day in the UK and survival rates are among the worst in Europe. Over 40,000 women are living with the disease and over 7,000 new cases are diagnosed every year. 1 in 50 women will be diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer in their lifetime.
Sooner or later, a statistic that will affect your family or someone you know.
Radio Hereford FC’s Frank Williams takes up the story
“Two years ago, March 11th 2021, at the age of 30, our daughter, Rebecca 'Bocca' Williams, lost her battle with Ovarian Cancer. We found a very supportive Charity, Target Ovarian Cancer, and we started a fund in our daughter’s name.”
‘Bocca’s Legacy’ supports the work of TOC in order to achieve two main aims:
1. Raising awareness of symptoms and the value of early diagnosis and intervention to improve survival rates. With early stage diagnosis, survival rates can be as high as 90%.
Download the awareness leaflet here and make sure everyone close to you gets a copy. Men and Women can spot the symptoms. It genuinely can save lives. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1oYO5kr2D2b0BXlZA4OX7p-dAX7M397wE/view?usp=sharing
2. Raising funds for research and support to for those living and working with ovarian cancer.
Since Rebecca’s death, Bocca’s Legacy has raised nearly £30,000 for TOC. Please help us to raise more. Through research, raising awareness and support, it may save the life of a person close to you.
