Jamie Egan, who is back at Edgar Street for his second loan spell, replaced Orrin Pendley in defence this afternoon against Kettering.
Afterwards manager Yan Klukowski explained what had happened.
"Orrin twisted his knee against Chester on Tuesday night and that's the reason we brought Jamie Egan in.
"We would have been really light in that part of the pitch.
"Orrin has been outstanding for us this season and we hope to have him back for selection very soon.
"Aaron Nesbeth, the physio, told me that Orrin would struggle to train on Thursday and we didn't has a fit centre-half at the club at the time.
"I know Levi can play there but I like him more in the right back area to use his pace and power in terms of a forward thrust for us.
"So I felt it necessary to bring Jamie in on loan for a month.
"Jamie comes in, keeps his clean shirt, at the moment he's got the shirt.
"That's the game."
