Hereford's interim manager Yan Klukowski felt that the first goal by visitors Curzon Ashton after just three minutes was a killer.
The Bulls never looked like scoring for most of the game and when Curzon went 2-0 supporters started to leave.
"Obviously the early goal was a bit of a killer for us," said Klukowski.
"I just felt it really deflated us after a positive opening couple of minutes where we had a couple of good chances which produced two fantastic blocks.
"If one of those flies in I think the whole atmosphere around the place changes rather than it being a little bit deflated from their early goal."
Curzon's first goal seemed to catch the Hereford defence out too easily.
"We didn't shut across quick enough and we allowed that ball into the channel and then when you get there you've got to try and keep them wide and stop them coming inside.
"Their lad has chopped Orrin and played a good cut-back. A good finish."
Once again little or no end product from Hereford.
"We've had lots of half chances today but again people reluctant to pull the trigger in and around the edge of the box. So someone wants to step up and be the main man and take all the headlines.
"We'll keep working, we'll keep trying to get players to be confident in those areas of the pitch and work opportunities to finish. But I think that's going to need a bit more time on the training ground."
Jethro Hanson had a good chance in the second half.
"He got himself in a good position - we asked him to try and be a bit more adventurous at the right time. He had a good contact with the ball but just too much. Minimum we want is to hit the target and try and work the goalkeeper.
"Hopefully things like that might spark the crowd into life by their keeper having to make a good save."
Curzon's second goal came from a penalty when the ball hit Orrin Pendley.
"It's really difficult to get out the way of those, he's been brave in producing a decent block, it looked like it went into Orrin's armpit area.
"I find it difficult to understand how else he could try and block by keeping his hands down by his side the way he was.
"Maybe a liitle bit unfortunate on that one but it was given."
