Whing's Reaction To Victory At Hereford

Banbury manager Andy Whing gave his reaction after his side won 3-2 at Edgar Street this afternoon.

"I thought first half we were poor, nowhere near it, miles off it really." Whing told Puritans Radio.

"I know we haven't played for three weeks."

Five minutes before half-time Whing changed the shape of his side.

"I felt sorry but I wanted to change shape. Went to a back five, like a 5-3-2 after fourty minutes.

"Cody came on (for former Hereford loan player Jac Hickman). Outstanding debut.

"We just didn't keep the ball first half, we didn't make four, five, six passes together.

"I thought Janaai (Gordon) was outstanding even in the first half up there on his own.

"Our second half performance was fantastic. I don't think they created anything to be honest.

"The two goals we conceded were poor from set-pieces, I was disappointed with that.

"But we were outstanding really, some really good goals."

Whing explained why he changed the shape.

"Sometimes you wait until half time but I thought they might nick a second goal so I thought I can't wait.

"We brought Cody on for five minutes just to get him into the game. He was outstanding.

"Second half it was like night and day. I'm really pleased how we bounced back second half."
