Full time: Hereford 2-1 AFC Fylde

A bumper crowd of 3,240 at Edgar Street saw Hereford beat AFC Fylde 2-1.

Hereford took the lead midway through the first half against the run of play, when Tyrone Barnett was fouled in the area and the striker stepped up to fire home from the penalty spot. This was the highlight for Hereford with the away side on top, hitting the woodwork and forcing several corners.

Eight minutes after the restart, Fylde levelled. Danny Whitehead’s shot took a massive deflection to trick Eve, and it ended up in the net.

Hereford searched for a second, with Barnett’s close-range effort blocked by the goalkeeper. Then Fylde’s Connor Barrett was sent off for a second yellow card, and two minutes later, Orrin Pendley headed home at the far post to put Hereford 2-1 up.

Man of the match Barnett got a knock late on, and after some treatment, was replaced with James Caton, as the Bulls earned the points.
