Jack Evans Scored Hereford's Goal |
Hereford manager Josh Gowling was unhappy with his side going two goals down last night at Brackley before a late rally reduced the deficit.
"To come away from home and you give goals away from re-starts, a goal-kick they scored from and a throw in, makes it hard away from home.
"We've got to learn from those things.
"The throw in wasn't reaching the area that we set up in which is why a short flick and we don't deal on the edge of the box and they score from it.
"Good character at the end to keep fighting and get back into the game but it was a bit too late.
"Brackley are good at soaking up pressure. They are well drilled, they stick behind the ball, they're hard to break down.
"Two big centre-halves who head or kick everything.
"When you give them a two goal lead it's very hard to break down.
"It was pleasing that we did get a goal back."
Luke Haines was on the team-sheet but didn't play.
"He's had a problem with his asthma. He did the warm up, we thought he was fine and then he said he couldn't breathe. So we had to make the change (Jethro Hanson). Not the best preparation in the world.
"But I thought Jethro was excellent when he came on. He didn't have a good warm-up because he didn't think he was starting."
With Mclean and Storey on the wings and Amadi-Morgan leading with Barnett just behind, Hereford looked to have an attacking threat.
"With Ty in the central area and Aaron up top, we looked to be bit more physical. And with Ryan and Miles's pace that's devastating isn't it.
"The first twenty minutes I thought we were excellent, played between the lines well and then they had a spell, which they are going to do at home.
"Ty played as a 10, played in mid-field.
"When we made changes we went to a 3-5-2. We brought Latty on with a bit of pace wide and Ty and Miles down the middle."
