Manager Josh Gowling Watches His Latest Signing |
In his post match interview Hereford manager Josh Gowling spoke about how he came to sign Kane Thompson-Sommers who made his debut for the Bulls yesterday.
"I know Darren Purse from Cardiff," said Gowling.
"I had a chat with him after the game.
"Kane was somebody I was really impressed with so I had a chat with him about it.
"He pointed me in the direction so then we got it sorted."
Was it to replace Durojaiye?
"No we wanted to bring in a mid-fielder anyway so we had Oli in and we had Jethro who was on trial.
"We wanted to bring in one more anyway. Whether it was going to be a number eight or another CDM, we were looking at that.
"But when Kane became available he could play CDM or number eight so we didn't need to bring in a number eight until we brought Jethro in.
"I think Kane has trained two or three times with us so he's still got to get to grips with what we're asking of him.
"I think sometimes when you've played at the level he's played at and then you come to this level it's a hundred miles an hour. So it's understanding how to get calm in that storm.
"His quality shone through, he's a class act."
