After today's 3-3 draw against Spennymoor, Hereford's Kane Thompson-Sommers spoke to the media.
"I thought it was great today," said the young midfielder on his debut for the Bulls.
"I've been waiting for a chance to play in front of the fans, showing what we can do.
"It was great to hear that atmosphere from the start, the fans were great today."
Thompson-Sommers played for Cardiff against Hereford in a pre-season friendly.
"That's how it came about.
"I played against Hereford a couple of weeks ago, then for whatever reason everything happened.
"I spoke to the manager as he liked me in that match and I thought this is the best place for me to come and play my football. I'm here now.
"I was at Aldershot for two weeks at the start of pre-season.
"I was on loan at Woking at the start of last season for about half the season and that was a great experience for us. For a young player it's important to get experience playing mens football and that was my first taste of mens football.
"I'm originally from North London and I played for Spurs from 12 to 16. Then after I finished school I moved to Birmingham and I've been there for the last five years.
"I think it was amazing really because there is such a difference between playing youth football where you don't feel that atmosphere makes a massive difference. It gives the player an extra push.
"You want to make this a fortress so every time you play here they (the fans) are our twelve man.
"I think I'm a player who can play a lot of different positions, all of the midfield positions. I feel I'm suited to all of them. I've played a lot of minutes in all of them in my career so it comes naturally for me to move around the pitch.
"I've come here because I want to get regular first team football and I think this is where I can do it.
"I want to express myself, play as best as I can, because that's going to help the team to do well this season. I want everyone to be on the same wavelength and going in the right direction."
There were six goals this afternoon.
"I wouldn't say it got to me but it was a very hectic game, back and forth, obviously it was disappointing that conceded the goals that we did but we always knew with how well we were playing as a team especially the attackers today that we were always in the game.
"If we could have just tightened up a bit we should have won the game and that's the most disappointing part about it.
"All of the squad have been very welcoming to me, I've not been here long, I've only been a week so I'm getting to know everyone and I would say as a group that they've all been very like, I feel like Hereford is a like a family and I feel very welcome.
"I feel like part of the team already and that's what's most important to me, for me to play my best football and help the team."
