Hereford manager Josh Gowling still lives in Grimsby despite the long distance away from Edgar Street but he feels it proves how committed he is to the club.
“The car is my office, I drive over 1,000 miles a week,” said Gowling in a interview with Grimsby Live.
"Some people say I’m not committed as I still live in Grimsby but I think it makes me more committed as not many people would be willing to do that.
“I’ve been travelling all my life all over the world to pursue my dream. “It’s nothing like I expected especially going through the Covid years while helping to run the football club.
“Getting fans back into the ground again and learning the recruitment side every season. I looked at getting constant improvement from my players and improving on the year before.
“If we move in that direction then we will have a successful season. I feel I have more of a winning mentality within the group of players this season.
“They have more know how about them. The club is in a really good place at the moment and we are getting around 1,200 fans at home and the other day had over 2,450 fans attend our game against Arsenal under-23s the other day.
“The fans have also raised over £50,000 to help my budget as part of a squad builder scheme ahead of this season.”
