Steve Burr spoke to the local media yesterday afternoon. It was put to him that the draw with Darlington was 'two points lost'.
"Definitely," said the Hereford assistant manager.
"We needed three today. Fortunately a lot of results have gone our way but obviously we didn't win the game but it was important we didn't lose it either.
"With the situation we are in we targetted three points today but we move onto Kettering and hope we get three points there.
"You have to give credit to Darlington, they are a good side.
"We got a good start with the early goal through Mo Faal and then I would say Darlington were pretty much on top in the first half.
"We had a bit of a rally second half but just couldn't find a way through today. I did feel that how we've been fluid at home wasn't quite there, chances were pretty much at a premium today."
Next for Hereford is an away game at Kettering on Tuesday followed by a long trip to Blyth Spartans next Saturday.
"You know that at this level there are no easy games at all whether teams are fighting for their lives at the bottom or trying to push for a play off spot.
"There are teams certainly around us including ourselves pushing to get into the play offs.
"I just felt today that the chances that we've been used to creating at home with the way we've been quite fluid wasn't quite there today."
It was suggested the surface at Kettering wouldn't be as good as Edgar Street.
"It's the same for both teams and it will probably be similar to the Leamington game. We've just got to be strong and make sure we come out on top.
"We're missing three influential players today, Vincent, Lloyd and Hodgkiss, they've been tremendous for us this season.
"When you take three players like that out of of your team it's going to make it harder.
"We'll go to Kettering with a view to trying to get a win.
"The pitch will be what it is, we've got to adapt and players have to adapt to the surface and conditions. That's always been the case in football. We're pleased we have a decent surface here."
Mo Faal scored his first league goal for the Bulls but was brought off early in the second half.
"He tired a bit, I think he's still getting up to speed with the intensity of the Conference North which is a lot different to what he's been used to at the Albion and the Under 23's.
"It was nice to see him take his goal well. The one clear cut chance and we stuck it away.
"We're hoping that Mo will get stronger for us and last a bit longer."
