Josh Gowling has told BBC Hereford and Worcester that he is looking to bring in one more player to add to his squad.
Money is tight at Edgar Street and the manager hopes he can call on a favour from another club.
"We've got what we've got," said the Hereford manager.
"If we are going to look at bringing anyone in it will be working on my contacts and pulling a few favours.
"Obviously we're light in one area I would say.
"It's an area we need to look at.
"Hopefully we can get something done over the next day or so."
Gowling has also revealed that he spoke to the club board at their meeting last Monday about his budget for next season.
A win for Hereford against York tomorrow would put the Bulls back in 7th place in the table and keep alive their hopes of a place in the play-offs and, no doubt, help to keep attendances up.
Defeat could mean them dropping to 11th place should Kettering (8th), Boston (9th) and Curzon Ashton (10th) win their respective home games.
