Southport manager Liam Watson was pleased with his side's 1-0 victory over Hereford yesterday. Both sides were awarded a penalty, Southport converted theirs, Hereford's was saved.
Afterwards he said that it had been 'a great response' after they lost at home last Tuesday.
"We've had six main players out, but we've got three back today and we'll have the other three back by next Saturday," said Watson.
"That puts us in a better position and you've probably seen more of what we're about today.
"That's working very hard, being hard to break down.
"There wasn't an awful lot in the game but you wouldn't expect it given where Hereford are.
"They are fighting for the play-offs so we're quite even.
"We made sure we didn't get beat today band so kept the gap away from them."
