Former Hereford United player Chris Hargreaves has been linked to the vacant manager's post at Eastleigh.
Hargreaves was academy manager at Bristol Rovers until he quit yesterday.
"Thanks to the owner, staff, players, and fans of Bristol Rovers for a fantastic 6 years," said Hargreaves.
"Had some top memories and made some great friends. I wish the club every success in the future and look forward to the next challenge."
Hargreaves joined Hereford United on loan from West Brom in February 1996 until the end of the season when he moved to Hereford on a free transfer.
He left Edgar Street after the end of the 1997/98 season.
