Brandon Hall was dropped to the bench for yesterday's game at Chester. His place in the Hereford goal was taken by Andreas Sondergaard (pictured above).
Afterwards manager Josh Gowling was asked about his decision to start the young Wolves keeper.
"It was a hard conversation to have with him (Hall)," said Gowling.
"I can't turn round and say he's played bad because he hasn't. He's been excellent. He's been a real good servant to the football club.
"Andreas has trained excellent and I just looked at things and I have these things in my mind from time to time. Something just decided I had to change it.
"So I wanted to change it and see what it looked like.
"Brandon is bitterly disappointed and I think it's probably harder for a player when a manager turns round and says I can't really say why because I think he's been brilliant.
"But from my point of view just looking at Andreas in training the last couple of weeks he's been outstanding.
"So we just wanted to make that adjustment.
"Obviously knowing that they were going to put a few balls in the box probably didn't work out that way as we still conceeded two from it anyway.
"We just wanted to freshen things up and I just thought with a new back four it might make them focus a little bit more with a new keeper behind them. That back four today was outstanding."
