Hereford FC have said that should shareholders decide to change the name of the club back to Hereford United that decision will cost at least £30K.
HUST are in the process of asking their members what they think and the £30K cost has been mentioned in a HUST mailing.
We have been advised that the initial estimate is in the region of £30,000+, which would impact directly on the Football Budget.
This would include items such as (but not limited to) the following:
- Change of logo, and trademark registration
- Change of signage at Edgar Street
- All Administrative work - Liaising with FA and National League, organising EGM, amending all contracts, new logo, trademarks, signage changes, website changes, social media platform changes
- Write off of Shop Stock with Hereford FC branding
- Time taken for staff to facilitate all of the above
- The costs above assumes that it is only the team's name that is changed, not the Company name. If the Company name is to be changed, then the administrative costs could be £10,000 higher than stated above
- No account has been taken of any sums payable to the current owners of Hereford United Football Club Ltd, a dormant company.
