It may be New Years Day but there is only one game taking place in the National North League this afternoon.
Darlington host Spennymoor and the two clubs will be hoping that there will not be any repeat of the disorder that took place inside and outside Spennymoor's ground on Boxing Day.
"Spennymoor Town FC is a family-friendly club with its roots firmly in the community; and such scenes are not welcome anywhere in football, especially not at The Brewery Field.
"Reports from the police that a number of officers were assaulted after the match in Spennymoor are also wholly unacceptable.
"Spennymoor Town FC will continue to assist the police with their investigations as a priority."
Spennymoor are 12th in the table, Darlington are 13th.
