It looks as though crowds will be allowed back at elite football stadiums from May 17th.
Even then numbers will be limited.
Whilst this news will be welcomed as a sign of a limited return towards normality, it comes too late for most football clubs for the current season.
The proposals From May 17th:
Sports outdoor events will have a capacity of either 50% or 4,000 people, whichever is lower.
There will be a special provision for large, outdoor, seated venues where crowds can be safely distributed, allowing up to 10,000 people or 25% of total seated capacity, whichever is lower.
From June 21st:
The possibility that all restrictions will be lifted.
