It's Starting To Click Said Gowling

Hereford manager Josh Gowling felt that it wasn't a complete performance against Kidderminster this afternoon despite winning 3-0 but with four wins on the bounce later admitted 'it's starting to click'.

"I don't think it was a complete performance," said Gowling as reported by BBC Hereford and Worcester.

"It's weird although we won 3-1, I don't think we were as fluid as we normally are but there are lots of positives.

"We took our goals really well, the lads were organised.

"We had to change things due to injuries.

"Kidderminster implemented their game a bit more than we did in the first half. Second half I think we were largely on top."

Kidderminster had their striker sent off when he appeared to clatter into keeper Brandon Hall.

"It was a difficult one. I know Morgs (Amari Morgan-Smith), he's not a malicious guy. It's a difficult one because it's there to be won. You've seen them given, you've seen them not so I'm not the ref but looking at it, it's one of those tackles where you had to go for it really.

"Obviously he's caught him so I understand why the ref has sent him off.

"I think Hall had the ball in his hands, he might tell me different. It looked like he had it but it was one of those 50/50 ones really where the striker can go for it and the goalie can go for it and probably Brandon has just got there before him and then he's come through."

Chris Camwell's strike early in the second half gave Hereford the lead.

"If you look at Cammy since he's come in, he's probably one with the best technical ability in the group. He does that often in training."

Luke Haines was back on loan from Swindon in the starting eleven.

"It was nice to get someone back who knows our philosophy and what we want to do and our indentity.

"I've been badgering Swindon since he went back to get him back here and we've finally managed to get it over the line. He's put a good performance in today. He was a bit leggy because I think the last game he played was at Southport."

Four wins on the spin?

"I think it's starting to click. We do a lot of work, we ask the lads to do a lot and that takes a lot when you're only training twice a week. The penny is starting to drop a little bit more now.

"To be fair we've had a bit of the rub of the green. We spoke not long ago about the goals we were conceeding, the mistakes we were making. We're still making mistakes but we're not getting punished. They are lesser mistakes."

It's Leamington next on Monday.

"It would be nice if the Leamington game was on Tuesday. It's the festive period, the lads know!

"We've got a small squad but we've got players who can fill in. Yan since he's come in at center-half has been absolutely excellent and he's marshalled things and shepherded the team, he's been excellent.

"We've got Kelsey to come in at some point and we've seen George today who came on towards the end and made some exceptional tackles.

"Will it be that team on Monday, I doubt it because of the quick turnaround but we've got lads who can come in."
