Mike Roberts, one of the original four benefactors of Hereford FC, has died. He was 76.
Along with Mark Blandford, Nigel Edmondson and Mark Ellis, he put £50,000 into the club to help convince Herefordshire Council that the new club had plenty of backing.
Earlier he served as a director of Hereford United when Peter Hill was chairman of the club.
His appointment started in June 1991 and lasted until September 1995.
In 2012 he purchased 5000 shares in Hereford United from former
vice-chairman Tim Russon which gave him a 12% share in the club.
In business he was chairman of CF Roberts, a well known electrical company based in Hereford and Cheltenham.
