Hereford FC assistant manager Steve Burr was pleased with the performance of the squad against TNS this afternoon.
"It was a good work-out," Burr told BN.
"A lot of good positives from both the first half and the second half.
"We got off to a good start with Camy getting his first goal for us and that settled us down.
"I thought some of our passages of play were good and we were playing against a very good side today in TNS. When they had the ball they kept it well.
"But I thought our shape and things we have been working at on the training ground really started to show, one or two signs that the way we want to play is filtering through to the boys.
"It was a good build up (to the first goal), good interplay. And it's nice to see the left back in those areas to get on the end of it and score. I love to see full-backs getting on the score-sheet because we want them to play like wingers but want them to defend when they have to defend. I thought the link-up for the first goal was really good.
"The second goal was pretty similar in some ways. Young Connor picked the ball up in the middle of the park, a few little one twos, played it out wide and then got on the end of it to score.
"I think the movement and everything we showed for both goals was very encouraging."
So much better than last Tuesday?
"You have to take into contention a little bit the games that we've played already, the lads not being around football for a number of months with what's been going on but I think the main thing in the pre-season is the build up to when you start and getting everything right for October 3rd.
"There were some good encouraging signs from the first half at Stourbridge then not such good signs from the second half when basically again there were a lot of trialists out there.
"Today what the trialists have done, new trialists that we've had in today, they've showed up really well and that was encouraging.
"I think with everything that's going on and where we are at what this pre-season will give us is a chance to have a look and not just over 45 minutes because you've got to give lads a fair crack and I think to be fair up to this point the lads who have been in, we've had a look and nobody really has really jumped out at us, but today there were one or two that we went yes we can have another look at you again on Tuesday and another look on Saturday."
