Six years ago today, June 3rd, the (then) new owner of Hereford United, Tommy Agombar, introduced himself to the staff at Edgar Street.
Agombar had recently purchased David Keyte's shares in the club.
Following a busy morning in the
club boardroom Tommy reassured staff that all payments and wages due to
themselves, players and football creditors would be paid in full this
week, subject to Conference status.
Tommy then spoke to the club's official website about his plans for Hereford United going forward.
"I'm a football man and I want
what is the very best for Hereford United and it's supporters, they've
endured a very hard time in recent months and years and we have to put
things in place to avoid that happening again.
"I want to see the club back in the Football League as soon as possible and I'm confident that we can do that.
"We are currently liaising
with the Football Conference regarding the club's current situation, we
are striving to get the best result possible for the club.
"We are aware that supporters
understandably worried that we'll just come into the club, develop the
two ends and then disappear, but that's not going to happen.
"If I had been approached
about buying a football club I would probably not of even entertained
it, but this is Hereford United, a great little club with a fantastic
history.
"I fully understand that
supporters have plenty of questions that they want answered, and we will
arrange a fans forum that will give everyone a chance to put forward
their questions."
