Hereford FC chairman Andrew Graham has called for an Emergency General Meeting of the club's supporters trust, HUST. He wants the meeting to ensure that fans received ‘transparency’.
In a long interview with Ben Goddard of the Hereford Times, Graham said "I can no longer sit silent in the hope that requests for HUST and HFC to work closer together will be grasped by HUST.
"I want to call a HUST EGM where I will be proposing a vote of no confidence in the current HUST Board."
"I want to call a HUST EGM where I will be proposing a vote of no confidence in the current HUST Board."
Relations between the two organisations have gone downhill recently. For example the HFC board have failed to ratify the proposal from HUST that their chair Joanie Roberts should join the club board despite there being a vacancy.
Meanwhile HUST appear incensed that the 50/50 draw which has allowed them to build up their stake in the club has been taken away from them. The club are set to operate the draw next season.
"Numerous calls for constructive HFC and HUST dialogue have failed to
attract a response," said Graham who is an HND, Trust Nominated Director.
"I do not receive responses or dialogue from the HUST
Chair and, during this exceptionally difficult period in its history,
at a time when all supporters need to be represented effectively, I am
at a complete loss as to the rationale for this!"
Graham continued: "I
am also trying to get the matter of the recent HND nomination resolved
but have not had responses from the nominee in recent weeks to enable me
to progress this."
Earlier today HUST announced that it had purchased a further £5000 of shares in the club.
"I noted that the club have received a further £5,000 for the purchase of
shares and I cannot thank the fans who have contributed, and those that
have made this happen, enough," said Graham.
However later in the article Graham complains about the amount of recent press releases from HUST. He feels dialogue first might have been helpful.
"When combined with the absence of HUST support for me as a HND, the lack
of communication from the HUST chair and the silence regarding the
desire for progress through a combined HUST/ HFC meeting, along with
many other matters we currently face, tells me that the relationship
between myself and the HUST board needs sorting out for the better,
right now, and to do that, there must be constructive dialogue! It is
insufferable that we are at this position!"

Update: Clarification about the 50/50 draw.
Andrew Graham spoke to the HT in April about the 50/50 draw.
"I have recently become aware that misinformation is circulating among some HUST members regarding the decision not to renew the HUST 50/50 operation, and voting activity surrounding that decision.
"So, let’s have some clarity here. The Hereford board, met, agreed to extend yet again, the HUST opportunity to reach 50 per cent.
"However, as this is now in the public domain, I can confirm that I had the casting vote, to determine whether HUST retained the 50/50 matchday draw rights when the current agreement ends."
