Bowen Back At Work At Edgar Street

Head groundsman Ben Bowen is back at work at Edgar Street after an appeal by the club for funds to catch up on pitch maintenance.

The appeal raised nearly £8000 and will allow Highground Maintenance to prepare the pitch for the return of football.

Today, according to club secretary Martin Watson, the grass has been cut. In the coming days, weather permitting, the pitch will be re-seeded.

Meanwhile Ben's father, Roger Bowen, has been featured in the Farmers Weekly.

Roger has worked on the same farm near Kingsland since he was 15. He retired last Tuesday on his 69th birthday.
