Premier League Set To Re-Start On June 17th

The Premier League is set to restart its fixtures on Wednesday June 17th but there remains no indication if or when fixtures, to decide promotion places etc for the 2019/20 season, in the National League might resume

Premier League clubs have agreed a provisional restart date for the 2019-20 season and the FA have also announced that the FA Cup will be returning at the end of June.

The top-flight season is due to restart behind closed doors on Wednesday 17th June “provided that all safety requirements are in place” the league said yesterday. The clubs approved a proposal that would see all 92 remaining matches broadcast live by Sky Sports, BT Sport, the BBC and internet retailer Amazon.

Premier League chief executive Richard Masters said: “Today we have provisionally agreed to resume the Premier League on Wednesday 17 June.

“But this date cannot be confirmed until we have met all the safety requirements needed, as the health and welfare of all participants and supporters is our priority.

“Sadly, matches will have to take place without fans in stadiums, so we are pleased to have come up with a positive solution for supporters to be able to watch all the remaining 92 matches.”

The FA meanwhile said its premier cup competition will resume at the end of June, with the quarter-finals taking place on Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th June. The semi-finals will be taking place on Saturday 18th July and Sunday 19th July, with the final taking place on Saturday 1st August.
