After yesterday's 2-2 draw against Southport, Lenell John-Lewis, who joined Hereford in mid-week spoke to the local media.
"It's been a while for me to get minutes so I enjoyed it," he said.
"It was a physical game, I didn't expect anything less.
"For me it was dusting the cobwebs off a little bit, getting 90 minutes under my belt and then hopefully kick on from there."
John-Lewis has played in teams with Tom Owen-Evans and Josh Gowling.
"It's been an easy transition. I know Tommy O'Sullivan as well. It always nice to see familiar faces when you come into a new club."
His last club Shrewsbury were full time whereas Hereford are part-time.
"I'll be working every day. I'm used to it so that's what I'll be doing."
Might you sign for Hereford on a permanent basis?
"Of course, I wouldn't be here otherwise but I've got to impress. Hopefully I can do that, then we'll see what happens.
"It's a big club with a very good fanbase, I knew that coming in and I know Josh and I know his asperations. Behind the scenes it's a very good set-up especially at this level.
"For me going forward if we can keep winning games and I impress we'll see what happens."
Do you prefer being a lone striker or would you rather have someone along side you?
"I'll play both. For me whatever the manager wants to do is what I'll do. I've played a lot of games on my own. As long as there is support it's no problem."
The National North is a physical league?
"I played in the Conference for two and a half years so I'm very much used to it and I like putting myself about, My missus won't if I get cuts and bumps!"
In one season at Grimsby John-Lewis scored 20 goals.
"Playing regularily to be honest, that's just simply it. I know I'll get chances, I had a couple today and in my book I should have scored so that my confidence and my beliefs. I'll keep getting chances and I will score goals.
"I throughly enjoyed it today, it's nice to get 90 minutes under my belt."
Asked about dropping down three levels to Naional North, John-Lewis said it wasn't an issue.
"The set-up here has surprised me so knowing Josh and where he wants to go it was not an issue.
"I think it has to be (a shop window) because I haven't played a lot of games recently so for me it has to be.
"I want to come and get minutes under my belt, want to come and score goals, I want to do well for the club."
