Players Win You Matches Not Formations Said Burr

Steve Burr who will be helping Josh Gowling at Hereford for the remainder of the season is no stranger to relegation battles.

When in charge at Chester in April 2014, Burr faced a situation that he needed to win a couple of matches to avoid dropping into the relegation zone.

"We have got three games to go and it’s in our hands. We have managed to keep ourselves out of the bottom four but this is crunch time now.

"I am a believer that formations don’t win you matches, players win you matches and we will pick the players that will give us the best chance of getting the win."

Another story with a Hereford connection came when Burr signed Steve Guinan, the former United striker, to join Kidderminster in May 2011.

"Steve is someone with massive experience who is still very hungry to do well. We're hoping he can bring experience to what will be a young squad - even younger than last year.

"We're pleased to have got him. We've agreed a deal that suits both parties and we're looking forward to working with him and know what he will bring to the dressing room."

Finally whilst with Chester Burr wanted to go full-time.

He said, in April 2014, that the club could make the move on the same budget as they have currently.

Given the aim of Hereford is to go full time at some stage, Burr's view could be of interest to the club board.
