Decent crowd expected following Slade's appointment

A crowd well in access of 2,500 is expected today for Hereford's match against Boston United following the positive reaction to Russell Slade's appointment.

The mood amongst fans has certainly changed following the awful 4-1 defeat to Chester in Monday, with supporters optimistic that Slade - who has managed around 850 games, many of which have been in the Football League - is the man that can change their fortunes.

In a poll run by Bulls News, 68% of supporters said they were happy with the appointment, with 24% saying they were undecided, probably reserving their judgment until Slade has had a run of games in change. The remaining 8% of the 798 votes cast said they were not happy with the news.

Slade has confirmed that he will be in the dugout for today's game, but because he has only witnessed one training session, Head of Football Tim Harris - who has been in charge of first team affairs for the past four games on an interim basis following Marc Richards' sacking - will pick the team.

On paper, a home game against a side currently sitting in 13th place is the sort of MATCH Hereford could do with following Monday's poor show.

But Boston did the double over them last season and go into the game on the back of a 5-0 hammering of Altrincham and with only one defeat to their name.

The bookies are backing the Bulls for a win, and with a raucous home crowd behind them, lets hope that is the case come 5pm today, especially as the next two games have been postponed.

We will provide the team news as soon as we get it, as well as a half time update and a full match report shortly after the final whistle. Regular updates will also be posted on our Twitter page (@BullsNewsBlog) throughout the game. COYW!
