Volunteer co-ordinated Rob Bullock was one of the match mascots yesterday |
One of Hereford's match mascots yesterday was a little older than what fans are used to seeing at Edgar Street as the club surprised a dedicated volunteer for his 70th birthday.
Rob Bullock has been involved with the club for the majority of the time since it was reformed and for sometime was the volunteer co-ordinator.
A few weeks ago he celebrated his 70th birthday and knew nothing of yesterday's surprise and initially said he didn't want to do it.
"Mascot, I didn't know anything about that and I told them where to put it originally! I said I didn't want to do it but I got wound up and thought get in on it.
"I was 70 a couple of weeks ago. I've had my few minutes of glory, I appreciated it. It was nice to have a few people clap you coming off! I had a chat with the lads and it was good.
"I've been here quite a bit, not so much lately as Jon Sadler has taken on some of the role, but I've enjoyed every minute of it."
