Bangor City could reform as a fan owned club if supporters vote for the idea at an EGM which is set to take place on April 10th.
Currently the club is owned by VSM (Vaughan Sports Management). The Vaughan family has been involved with several clubs over the last 15 years or so including Chester City. Stephen Vaughan Junior returned to Bangor as chairman last month.
However all is not well at Bangor. The club was demoted from the Welsh Premier League at the end of last season. More recently there have been press reports that players have not been paid and the club's auditors have resigned. The club is said to be £100,000 in debt.
Supporters Direct (SD) are expected to be at the EGM. The organisation helped Chester FC reform after they ran out of money during Stephen Vaughan Senior's time in charge.
Vaughan Junior recently told the Daily Post:
"If they want the club back - although it's not officially for sale -
we would hand over the reins to the Association if they can confirm they
can deal with the income and expenditure and all the bills until the
end of the season.
"We won't convert our loans into shares, we will just leave them as loans. They can take it over tomorrow if they want, because it's toxic the way it is at the moment."
Back in 2014 after Hereford United was sold to Tommy Agombar, Supporters Direct played a part in the formation of Hereford FC.
