Richards Felt Hereford Didn’t Have The Rub Of The Green

Head Coach Marc Richards was left 'frustrated' after Hereford lost out on three points this afternoon, losing 2-1 at home to Curzon Ashton.

"We didn't take our chances and they did," said Richards.

"I thought we played some really good stuff, created quite a lot of chances, especially in the first half, a couple cleared off the line.

"A couple of disallowed goals today, I've just watched those back, so it's really, really frustrating, probably one of the most frustrating games I've been in really in terms of obviously losing 2-1.

"I thought we deserved at least a point if not all three points out of that but we're sitting here with a 2-1 defeat.

"We didn't capitalise on those chances that we did create.

"I thought our performance levels were, on the whole, pretty good today but we didn't manage to score goals at the right times.

"Symo had one disallowed in the first half and in the second half and both were not offside and that's really frustrating when you come in afterwards and watch them back.

"They were both at key points in the game when we would have gone 1-0 up in the first half or 2-0 up in the second half.

"Their first goal was a bit sloppy in terms of us being the right side of their attacking players and just making sure we're defending the goal a bit better. We limited them to few and far between to be honest for the ninety minutes.

"If you look at the amount of chances we had compared with them we were definitely in the ascendancy."

Richards brought on Finn and Roberts with ten minutes remaining.

"I made two positive changes to try and have a right go, I wanted all three points."

New loan signing James Waite didn't start this afternoon.

"James Waite has joined us, he's only managed to train with us once this week.

"He gives us another option.

"With the games coming thick and fast he will get his opportunity sooner rather than later.

"Ryan Green has watched him twice so we've had some really good reports about him.

"And Tim knows some of the Cardiff City coaches pretty well so he's a great option for us to have and I'm really pleased that we've managed to bring James into the club.

"We had the green light late last night so I was pleased that (International clearance) was through.

"He's not got on today but we go to York on Tuesday so the turn around time and the journey so we need to have a look at that.

"But it's great to have him involved and he knows a few of the boys anyway."
