Mike Symons passed a late fitness test ahead of Hereford's derby game with Kidderminster Harriers this afternoon.
The Bulls target man was a doubt before kick off, but Head Coach Marc Richards said the fitness test was only precautionary.
Richards was asked after the game how Symons' fitness was as he didn't seem as effective upfront as he has in recent weeks.
"He was fine, he passed a fitness test today so it was just a precautionary one really," Richards said.
"He was just feeling his hamstring a little bit but he was absolutely fine so obviously he started.
"I think Kidderminster did a job on him if I'm being perfectly honest. They've seen what a threat he can be and nullified him really.
"Full credit to Kidderminster, they changed their shape and up until the sending off were the better team. They got the deserved result today."
Symons' strike partner James Roberts backed up what Richards said, adding
"I'm going to back Mike to the hills, as a striker partner I'm not going to say a bad word about him," Roberts said.
"Everyone knows what he brings, he's that big unit up front that can hold the ball up and flick it on and it's not like he doesn't score goals either. He pokes in, I think he's got three in his last six.
"They (Kidderminster) were very good at dealing with him today. They stuck a central midfielder on him and a centre-back on him. We didn't quite read where the overload was then going to be.
"If there were two men on him then there should have been a man free somewhere else and we should've capitalised on that."
