George Lloyd's return to Edgar Street doesn't end Hereford's search for additional firepower up front and Richards reiterated the club are constantly looking out for fresh faces.
18-year-old Lloyd rejoined Hereford on loan in time for yesterday's game after spending two weeks back at parent club Cheltenham Town - but this doesn't stop the search for fresh faces up front.
Richards says it should be clear what Lloyd brings to the side and players are now watching their backs because competition for places has grown.
"I think you saw from his first spell what he gives you, his energy, his commitment and he scored a couple of goals," Richards told the press after Saturday's 2-2 draw.
"He can play on the shoulder, he can play in different positions so hopefully he'll give us that additional quality but also competitiveness.
"The players, I obviously made a few changes today, and they are looking over the shoulder a little bit. That makes it a little bit more competitive in terms of the squad.
"We are constantly on the search. I didn't want George to go back originally and Cheltenham called him back because of their own circumstances which was completely understandable from the parent club.
"It was always my hope that he would go back for a couple of weeks and then come back to us and that's happened.
"We're constantly on the look out for not just strikers, but additional players.
