Two Artificial Football Pitches In The City Approved By Planners

The plans for the artificial pitch at the County Ground, home to Lads Club and the HFA

The Herefordshire FA's plans to build an artificial grass pitch at the County Ground have been approved by the Council's planning committee.
At Tuesday's committee meeting Pegasus Juniors saw their pitch plans also approved.
Work is planned to commence during 2019, with hopes that the surface will be ready for the start of the 2019-2020 season.
The HFA say the County Ground pitch will be a real community facility, linking in with key clubs and partners from within the local area to provide a facility that is accessible for all.
HFA CEO Jonny Walker says they have been trying for several years to find a site, with many options being considered, so it is fantastic news to finally receive this approval.
"This is fantastic news for grassroots football in Herefordshire, we have now passed a major hurdle in order to deliver this exciting new project," Walker said.
"You only need to look at recent postponements across the county to understand how important these new facilities will be. Both projects have received fantastic support locally and we are extremely positive that participation will grow as a result, led by a number of new initiatives and community projects."
