Those Three Points Are Massive Said Symons

Hereford striker Mike Symons admitted it was a tough afternoon after Hereford came away with three points after beating Kidderminster Harriers 1-0.

Symons said it was brilliant to get the three points after being on the wrong end of the  same scoreline at Bradford (Park Avenue) on Saturday.

"It was a tough afternoon I'm not going to lie," Symons said.

"Brilliant to get the three points after last week, the boys were still frustrated in the dressing rooms this afternoon about conceding that goal and not getting that decision at the end of the game.

"Give credit to Kidderminster, they're a good footballing side. You can tell their full time, they're fit boys, they work on their shape and work on getting into good areas. I thought that they were good, it was a good afternoon and a good battle.

"We kept ourselves in the game and the boys put in an absolute shift, we got the decision at the end and fair play to James (Roberts) for standing up, slotting it away and those three points are massive for us at the moment.

"In recent weeks we've been playing well and it was nice to get three points in the league."

James Roberts scored the only goal of the game in the 80th minute after a foul in the box on Symons - a clearcut penalty said Symons.

Ryan Johnson appeared to shove Symons in the box with the referee not hesitating in giving the spot kick.

"It was a strange one, I was trying to bring it down and it looked like a clearcut one, but it'll be interesting to see it back on the analysis to see whether it was.

"No need for them to push where I was in the position, the ref blew his whistle very quickly so he must have seen it as well. James stood up, tucked it away, three points so a good Boxing Day!"

Symons was subject to a number of fouls throughout the afternoon as the hosts tried to keep him under control.

The Hereford target man said the game was a good battle and Hereford's work ethic was spot on.

"They set out with one in front and one behind, the two centre-halves were big physical boys as well so it was a good battle.

"They put in a shift for their side, it was a physical, tough battle and the work ethic today, as in recent weeks, was spot on.

"We kept ourselves in the game and got that little chance in the end which was superb."
