Marc Richards said it felt good after Hereford won their first league game with him at the helm.
The Bulls beat Alfreton Town 2-1 at Edgar Street and Bulls Head Coach felt the win had been coming, but it was just a case of getting it across the line.
The Bulls beat Alfreton Town 2-1 at Edgar Street and Bulls Head Coach felt the win had been coming, but it was just a case of getting it across the line.
"It did feel good I won't lie to you," said Richards.
"It didn't feel good on about 89 minutes when they equalised and it had gone 1-1, but it's great. It had been coming but it was just getting it across the line.
"However we really needed to do it today and it was good to get the three points."
There was just one change to the side that beat FC United of Manchester last weekend, with Tommy O'Sullivan replacing the departed Mike McGrath.
"We constantly look at who we're playing and what we need to do," Richards added.
"As we're evolving as a squad, we will constantly be looking at what we can do to get the best possible performance to get the best possible results on the pitch. Luckily we got over the line today and got the three points.
"I felt that when we conceded and they got the equaliser, I was worried we were going to crumble. I was looking at a few to really step up, it's really pleasing that they got through it and got the penalty.
"I thought we had quite a few chances to kill the game off and all second half I was saying we need the second and when it didn't come I was thinking it was going to be a really tough last 10/15 minutes because they've got nothing to lose.
"When the equaliser went in I thought two points lost, but luckily the boys really rallied and got the three points."
Despite the win, it's not a case of one league win cures everything, as Richards says there's still a lot of work to do.
Richards said: "I think we've got a long way to go, I'm not going to stand here and say just because we've got the win everything is rosey.
"We've got a load of work to do and the more we can get them on the training pitch the more we can get into what we want to do, both in and out of possession.
"Hopefully more performances will come where we will be picking up more points."
