AFC Telford United say they are are hugely disappointed that their new home shirt chosen by supporters will not be delivered before Saturday, 15 weeks after placing the order.
Manufacturers Hummel UK had pushed the delivery of the bespoke jerseys back after technical difficulties. They said at the time they will be delivered to the club for their first league game of the season, where they would be on sale to supporters as well as being worn by the team.
"The information has come as a huge disappointment especially as we received a confirmation letter from Hummel UK on the 12th July ensuring that the home kit would be delivered within the allocated deadline that was set," the club said in a statement.
"Our order was placed over 15 weeks ago and at the time of the order Hummel UK & Fortis Sport ensured us that the turnaround period was 8 weeks. Therefore, our scheduled pre-season photo shoot which was due to take place this evening has now been cancelled and will be rearranged at a later date.
"We understand several supporters have placed pre orders for their home shirt and we share their frustration that they will not be receiving their home shirt prior to the start of the season."
In the statement, no reason was given for the latest delay, but Hummel UK apologised to the Bucks.
"Hummel would like to sincerely apologize to AFC Telford and Fortis Sports that we have been unable to complete the delivery of your new Bespoke Home jersey for Season 2018/19 in the timescale previously notified.
"We are working tirelessly with the factory to ensure that this additional delay is as short as possible, and a further update will be made early next week."
The players will be wearing the away strip for the visit of Southport on Saturday.
