It's the FA Groundsman of the Year awards at St George's Park today and once again Highground Maintenance, who look after the pitch at Edgar Street, are in with a good chance of an award.
The Groundsman of the Year Awards Presentation brings together all the award winners, runners-up and highly commended groundsman for a day at St. George’s Park which includes lunch, a tour of the facility and the awards presentation.

GROUNDSMAN OF THE YEAR AWARDS 2018 - QUESTIONNAIRE
1. Is the Groundsman a volunteer or contractor and are they part-time or full-time?
2. Does the Groundsman work alone and how many years have they been looking after the pitch?
3. How many hours per week are dedicated to pitch maintenance?
4. How many games / training sessions are held on the pitch / pitches over a season?
5. Does the Groundsman have control over whether games are cancelled due to weather etc.?
6. How does the Groundsman deal with intensive play?
7. How much finance is available to spend on the pitch each season and who manages this?
8. What would the Groundsman like to do if the money were available?
