Hereford United competed in the Welsh Cup for many years, even though they are an English team...

Sides such as Shrewsbury Town, Chester City, Bristol City, Crewe Alexandra, Tranmere Rovers and even Kidderminster Harriers have joined the Bulls as winners of Wales' biggest cup competition. Teams as far east as Birmingham have competed, including Hednesford Town who lost the final in 1992. However, since 1994 English teams haven't been allowed to compete as the restructuring of Welsh football made it a non-English affair. Hereford have won the Welsh Cup once, back in 1990, when they beat Wrexham at the old Arms Park in Cardiff, but have reached the final on three other occasions, twice losing to Cardiff City and once to Swansea City.
