Chorley Councillor Danny Gee has clarified some points in his letter about football supporters visiting his town.
Originally Gee wrote that 'travelling away fans will no longer be welcome in Chorley Town Centre'. (Read - http://bullsnews.blogspot.com/2018/08/football-fans-visiting-crowley-town.html )
However he told Phil Williams on Five Live last night that he didn't want coach loads of travelling supporters coming into the town because they tended to spill out of pubs onto the pavement.
Instead he suggested any coach with supporters should find a pub well away from the town centre instead.
"We're not banning any football supporters from coming into Chorley, we welcome football supporters.
"What we are concerned about is coaches."
Takings in the town centre drop when coachloads of football supporters are about said the councillor.
Williams then asked if he turned up with ten of his friends in a mini-bus would they be okay?
"Yes as long as you went in the pub and stopped in the pub."
Gee later admitted his letter should have been worded a bit better.
"We've no problem with fans having a drink. If you come in a coach with ten fans in you will be more than welcome."
Hereford FC play at Chorley on Saturday.
